FIGHTING FOR THE SOUL OF HUMANITY
It feels to me that in this November election (and beyond) we’re not just fighting for democracy. (Some call democracy “the soul of America.”) We’re also fighting for the soul of humanity.
We have descended into a conflict where one side is fighting for the priorities of love, generosity, compassion, kindness, dignity, respect, inclusion, integrity, honesty, civility, cooperation, understanding, connection to others and the planet, freedom and moral values.
The opposing side exhibits and promotes lying, violence, suppression, hatred, lack of respect and abuse of all kinds.
We are fighting for the future we want.
We are fighting for values that enhance life.
The choice seems simple and clear to me, and our lives and the life of this planet depend on our choice.
